Thanks for the blog. I've been browsing a few days. I take it back myself. I can't speak for 'Chechar' (I haven't browsed every comment on his huge blog yet) but I was guilty of thinking you a troll, as you know. I see now you're not. I take it he probably meant that as in 'responds with similar query without acknowledging previous replies that add further context'.

My favourite commenters probably would have included Walsh also, had I known him. I like Jamie too, for the enthusiasm (though I wish he'd say more), plus the erudition of Gaedhal, who I'm on the mailing list of. I hear Mauricio's pretty sound also. I like people who call a spade a spade, and those who are ok with outright revolutionary speech (of 'the brigade' type etc. by analogy). I know who I don't like at least - not for their content, but for their lack of imagination/lack of radicalism. Is 'Chechar' 'sarky/toxic'? I see him more as just a very overworked person, perhaps flustered even (understandably - he's as sensitive as me), with the patience level natural to an old man. I've got annoyed at him a few times, to quite a pronounced degree. On re-evaluation it's always been my own fault - like me throwing a temper tantrum. He's kind of cryptic over that. I put it down to politeness. I got to the site a few years too late I think.

I might be barking up the wrong tree on this post, and I know you can't have known, but as I far as I can see from the UK, Russia's tentatively winning (well, it looks it). I was one of the ones hoping for a contained nuclear strike on Kiev. Nothing personal - I mean, I don't see individuals, as much as the 'cause'. I don't think anything the measly UK can splat out can really affect that too much, apart from raising the nuclear threat again (preferably I'd like London to go too).

I typed a late-as-ever second response to you on my own blog btw. Just going over old ground, plus a new speculation. I was curious, I suppose. Back to aetiologies.

Anyhow, I'll have a further browse round here another day this week and see if I can find something to add more directly related.

Keep up your writing.

Cheers,

BP

...They have been distorting and misrepresenting my views yet again. I wonder whether he has the integrity to let my response pass through, but anyway, this is just precious. Who in his right mind believes Putinian Russia to be able to win? And who would ever call the Ukraine "my country"? This isn't blind spots anymore, this is delirium. Which is fine, I'm not expecting much to begin with.

Take Elon's admission that his son got turned into a cute trap - like what side would that even hold currency with? The Western world has gone utterly retarded, big and small, all mad.

It continues to confuse me how Adunai and those like him (often called “Nazbols”) can admire Bolsheviks. Even purported National Socialists who defend Christianity are easier to understand, as they may have a superficial understanding of one ideology or both. But even the most superficial understandings of National Socialism or Bolshevism will show that they are fundamentally opposed to one another. What baffles me more is how aware Adunai is of Neo-Christianity, even though opposing Neo-Christianity while admiring Stalin is as nonsensical as opposing Christianity while admiring John Paul II.

Good point. Over time I realised that Adunai wasn’t honest or consistent. For example, when various YouTube channels started saying that the official narrative of the war in Ukraine was bullshit, Adunai continued to believe that his country was going to beat the Russians, and didn’t understand why the Ukrainian army didn’t launch an offensive.

Self-deception, obviously.
